What is meditation? Or prayer? For that matter. There are many different approaches to this. Most people assosiate meditation with just being silent thinking of nothing with your eyes closed. While prayer includes more talking to God or some “higher force”.
Here at WMD we have good experience with a combination of these two. We will achieve a meditaive state and become really relaxed, and then start using pictures and words about the topic we have set beforehand.
Now we also have a guided audio meditation for download for free!
DOWNLOAD OR STREAM THE AUDIO MEDITATION HERE.
Right click and choose Save as… for download or click for streaming. Beware the file size is 50MB, so it might take a while to download.
The meditation is free for use, and you can burn it to one or several CDs, as long they’re all free for everyone.
The first 30 minutes are guided, the rest is with meditative music where you can speak yourself, or just sit in meditation and joy.
The following is a transcript of a very successfull meditation we did together. The topic was, as always, the whole planet, but this time we focused spesificly on the planned palm plantation on the island of Borneo. It might help to have a globus or a world map, and study this before the meditation. One person opened the meditation by helping the group into a meditative state. As soon as the group was relaxed, the opening person started to guide the group, telling them what he “saw”. When he was finished, the word was free to be taken by anyone who wanted to share visions, thoughts and feelings.
The opening is now on the guided audio meditation.
This is breifly how it went forth:
Opening person:
Find a comfortable position and close your eyes.
1. Take a deeeep breath and breathe out as you feel your body relaxing.
2. Take another deeep breath, breathe out, and continue to relax.
3. Take a third deeep breath, breathe out, and feel your body is completely relaxed.
Picture yourself floating outside the planet. Become so big that you see the planet floating between your hands. You can put out your hands. See the Light of Love flow from your hands and into the planet. Feel yourself sending Love and Light into the planet. Feel the compassion and gratitude for ALL the beings on this planet and the planet itself.
(After doing this for so long it feels natural we move on:)
Let’s fly and get closer to Borneo. Can you see the island of Borneo? Let’s beam our loving Light down at the island. Let’s fill the island with loving care and compassion and gratitude for all the living beings that are there. Let’s give our love to the animals, the nature and all the human beings that are there. Let’s give our love to the humans planning the palm plantation. Let’s give our respect and understanding to everyone involved. Let’s see that everything happens to the best for everyone.
The word is free. Please feel free to share.
(At this moment we all sit with our eyes closed in a deep meditative state, visualizing Light and Love. There is no one controlling who get’s to talk. Everything happens by feeling. Talk when you feel like it. Trust your feelings. The deeper trust we have the more we “think as one”.)
Person 1:
I am going into the Borneo jungle. I see orangotang babies. They are playing. I am an orangotang baby, and I am playing!
(We all automatically visualize what she’s saying)
Person 2:
I am flying between the trees in the jungle watching you playing. It looks great! I am radiating love into everytihing! I feel the jungle giving it right back to me!
Person 3:
I see the persons planning the plantation. I can see that they want to preserve the nature in the best way possible, and at the same time getting employment for a lot of the population of Borneo. I looks like this is going to be very good for everyone involved, and the whole planet! I am so happy!!
(And so forth…)
We then sit and talk and visualize like this for as long as we feel like. And I can tell you that this experience was amazing! It was a very energizing experience for all of us. We felt closer to each other, AND we really felt gratitude from the planet, as if we really had done something to help it (which we believe we had…!). It was better than any movie!
Afterwords we had a big group hug, and it felt wonderful. Meditating like this gives energy and love to both you, the planet and humanity.
I think we used about an hour on this “meditation”, and after we were so touched that we wanted to sit and talk about it for a while, which we did.
So come on and join us in this creative mind expanding and healing experience!
Of course, if you are used to meditating or praying, you can do whatever you usually do. You can alter this meditation to your own liking, or even do something completely different. Remember that meditation is really nothing more than focused thinking. And what we focus our thoughts on we will eventually find in our life in some way or another sooner or later.
We vary the topics from meditation to meditation, and send out an email to the list with the latest topic. Please send an email with suggestions for topics. There should be a lot to choose from in the world today…
Here at www.worldmeditationday.com we will bring different approaches to meditation as time comes.
The more people meditating at the same day, the more community we will feel and the more peace and joy we will get.
If you feel you would like to contribute to the world, at least meditate 5 minutes (or more, of course) once a month.
It will do both you and the world good.
Invite your friends to join you!
Send them a mail and ask if they would like to join in on the next meditation. It’s not like it takes a lot of time. I doesn’t require any particular skill or equipment. It doesn’t do any harm. If they haven’t got e-mail, phone them! Or tell them in some way or another.
